Mauro Liher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos José Vega's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hipolito Benino during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hipolito Benino hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Calamardo's zone, Carlos José Vega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauro Liher came out of the goal and Carlos José Vega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos José Vega did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Mauro Liher 16 minutes into the match. After 23 played minutes Calamardo got a freekick which was hit by Cleto Lluterio. When Hipolito Benino came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Calamardo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hipolito Benino couldn't finish the play. If Rui Shantala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Carlos José Vega took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Mauro Liher to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Calamardo booed when Zorros del Desierto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Barco didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cleto Lluterio was the one to do the kick off. Carlos José Vega's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauro Liher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. After 56 minutes of play, Zorros del Desierto's Carlos José Vega made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauro Liher was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mauro Liher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patxi Claude's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Mauro Liher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patxi Claude, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patxi Claude in the 68th minute of play forced Calamardo's goalkeeper Mauro Liher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Zorros del Desierto's Simón Iturbe got a free kick in the 69th minute. Mauro Liher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermelando Lambarrie in the 73rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patxi Claude in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauro Liher saved Calamardo from getting behind. Ladislao Gaxan hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After having played for 89 minutes, Patxi Claude managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zorros del Desierto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patxi Claude was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Calamardo's Mauro Liher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patxi Claude in the 93rd minute of play. Patxi Claude blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mauro Liher having to make a save. 94 minutes into the match, Calamardo's goal looked a bit too open when Patxi Claude came free, but Mauro Liher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th match minute, Zorros del Desierto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiquito Escalante to maneuver through the defense.
