An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Musu in the 7th minute of play forced MAN FC's goalkeeper Godofredo Abella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Mariusz Kaczanka lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Frederick Scicluna. When MAN FC's Mariusz Kaczanka in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Meerkats FC's goalie prevented a goal. Leonard Calleja took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Godofredo Abella. Godofredo Abella dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 16 minutes, Paolo Maura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MAN FC and the Meerkats FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, Paolo Maura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the MAN FC defense, Leonard Calleja kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Godofredo Abella. The MAN FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Godofredo Abella should have stopped the shot. Godofredo Abella came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Meerkats FC's Kevin Musu. But to his dismay, Kevin Musu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 30th minute, Oscar Abechuco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zach Testaferrata Viani in the 40th minute of play forced MAN FC's goalkeeper Godofredo Abella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Saverio Hurko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Frederick Scicluna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariusz Kaczanka made a kick off. The supporters of MAN FC booed when Meerkats FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zach Testaferrata Viani didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, MAN FC's goalkeeper Godofredo Abella had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kevin Musu. MAN FC's Godofredo Abella played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Calleja in the 67th minute of play. Godofredo Abella showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Portanier, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Meerkats FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Abechuco came free, but Frederick Scicluna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74thth minute of the game Leonard Calleja who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MAN FC's Godofredo Abella was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zach Gerada hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 79thth minute of the game Mariusz Kaczanka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Meerkats FC's Frederick Scicluna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Godofredo Abella showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Calleja in the 84th minute of the match. Zach Testaferrata Viani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godofredo Abella having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Richard Rapinett during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th minute, Richard Rapinett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Meerkats FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than MAN FC throughout the match.
