After 21 minutes of play, Norrlands Athen's Måns Sandberg made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernesto Merexildo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Måns Sandberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Merexildo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Måns Sandberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juan Lebron to strike the kick off in the second half. Safet Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Giusti in the 59th minute of the match. Blas Bixintxo's late challenge caught a Norrlands Athen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blas Bixintxo helped the player get up and apologised. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Norrlands Athen eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
