The tension between the Boca Jr. FC and the Leão de Judá players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Boca Jr. FC's Albino Torres got a free kick in the 10th minute. Ruben Harri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Rodas, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Joaquin Pirmin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Charlie Hennenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquin Pirmin kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The supporters of Leão de Judá booed when Boca Jr. FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustino Larra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute of the match Jonathan Rodas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ruben Harri skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albino Torres got free with Charlie Hennenberg in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maurício Marques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Edmílson Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leão de Judá's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmílson Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ruben Harri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Paulo Brito in the 38th minute of the match. José Paulo Brito scored 0-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruben Harri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Rodas during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half Leão de Judá were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Fernandinho Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Harri having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Christian Guifre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Jr. FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Guifre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charlie Hennenberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Paulo Brito who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 63rdth minute tested the skills of Ruben Harri when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 66th minute Andrézinho Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Harri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mack Turnbull's late challenge caught a Boca Jr. FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
