After a defensive mix-up in MarquinhosEC's zone, Lenílson Velasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeca Cerezo came out of the goal and Lenílson Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roman Pavlyuchenko struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Zeca Cerezo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pinheiros Capibaras FC. After some careless play in the MarquinhosEC defense, Lenílson Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zeca Cerezo. The MarquinhosEC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zeca Cerezo should have stopped the shot. When Dorian Prado came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the MarquinhosEC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorian Prado couldn't finish the play. In the 25th minute, Dieguinho Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roman Pavlyuchenko hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Roman Pavlyuchenko might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeca Cerezo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roman Pavlyuchenko ran back to his position shaking his head. Lenílson Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Zeca Cerezo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roman Pavlyuchenko's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Lenílson Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Zeca Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of MarquinhosEC booed when Pinheiros Capibaras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Pavlyuchenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Pinheiros Capibaras FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dorian Prado was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Ciro Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. MarquinhosEC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciro Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serafim Urbano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zeca Cerezo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 81st minute, which inside left pole to 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorian Prado in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serafim Urbano saved Pinheiros Capibaras FC from getting behind. When the match was over Pinheiros Capibaras FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than MarquinhosEC throughout the match.
