In the 17th minute Humberto Eliu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdemar de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severiano Rafe having to interfere. Valdemar de Amaral struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Severiano Rafe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio 20 Julho. Grêmio 20 Julho's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jonathan Zanette took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernan Uzuri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdemar de Amaral to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Valdemar de Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio 20 Julho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdemar de Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Severiano Rafe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar de Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Madison's Hernan Uzuri got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 64 minutes, Valdemar de Amaral made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Madison's Severiano Rafe tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Valdemar de Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Severiano Rafe having to make a save. 68 minutes into the match, Madison's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar de Amaral came free, but Severiano Rafe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Madison booed when Grêmio 20 Julho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivo Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Zanette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th match minute, Grêmio 20 Julho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Neves to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the match, Silvano Polentzi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Zanette. Grêmio 20 Julho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silvano Polentzi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.
