In the 6thth minute of the game Guido Joanes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Muchachos del 86's Ramiro Erasto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Erubiel Presebal fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Muchachos del 86's protests and gave Erubiel Presebal a yellow card for diving instead. Wei Fei Qi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joel Pabla in the 10th minute. Los Muchachos del 86's Santo Blanco got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. DeportivoIndependienteMDP's Aquilino Rey got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wei Fei Qi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Pabla in the 36th minute of play. Joel Pabla took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wei Fei Qi. Wei Fei Qi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Ramiro Erasto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Joanes in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Guido Joanes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DeportivoIndependienteMDP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Pabla was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes DeportivoIndependienteMDP got a freekick which was hit by Nicasio Sendoa. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Pabla in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wei Fei Qi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute, Guido Joanes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ramiro Erasto. The goal made the score 1-3. A collision led to Los Muchachos del 86 getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Erubiel Presebal hit a great ball. DeportivoIndependienteMDP's Patricio Vito got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patricio Vito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guido Joanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ramiro Erasto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
