A sloppy throw-in by Horia Răducanu in the 2nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Robert Vătavu. Marian Curtean acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 4th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cosmin Mușetescu. 8 minutes into the game, Horia Răducanu threw the ball into play from the sideline. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Robert Vătavu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 10 minutes into the game, Dan Stelaru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Marian Curtean was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Manuel Cozorici kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Dan Stelaru got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vlad Voican showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolae Pârâianu, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Vlad Voican showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduard Angheloiu in the 21st minute of the match. -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's Marian Curtean proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save -BZF- Viitorul Buzau from getting a goal against them. Dan Stelarus short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Marian Curtean to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 24 minutes into the match, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolae Pârâianu came free, but Vlad Voican reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes of play, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Dan Stelaru made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marian Curtean was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 44th match minute, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viorel Burdea to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dan Stelaru made a kick off. When Manuel Cozorici was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 50 minutes had been played. Manuel Cozorici kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Robert Vătavu got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Marian Curtean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Hulubei in the 61st minute of the match. After 62 minutes, Albert Baican mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the -BZF- Viitorul Buzau and the MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's Albert Baican got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan Stelaru in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marian Curtean prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Dan Stelaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Dan Stelaru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marian Curtean was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. When MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Dan Stelaru in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's goalie prevented a goal. 6-0 became the score in the 75th minute when Dan Stelaru elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Dan Stelaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 81st match minute, -BZF- Viitorul Buzau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudiu Negrițoiu to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Dan Stelaru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marian Curtean was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. 88 minutes into the match, Eric Hulubei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marian Curtean. -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eric Hulubei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. 93 minutes into the game, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Eric Hulubei nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marian Curtean made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV fans cheered their team off the field, for while -BZF- Viitorul Buzau had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
