With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zinédine Zidan in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jozef Hemeleers saved Winksele 2016 from getting behind. Evrosi Popsavov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yanis Devriendt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Winksele 2016's zone, Serdar Öğeturk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jozef Hemeleers came out of the goal and Serdar Öğeturk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fabricio Burutzagi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evrosi Popsavov having to interfere. Evrosi Popsavov made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Yanis Devriendt sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yancho Batalov in the 25th minute of play forced Winksele 2016's goalkeeper Jozef Hemeleers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 played minutes Winksele 2016 got a freekick which was hit by Romeu Cabral. Yancho Batalov struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Jozef Hemeleers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United F.C.. If Yancho Batalov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Yanis Devriendt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Winksele 2016 getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Thibaud Segers hit a great ball. If Yancho Batalov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 58th minute Hugo Eekhout shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evrosi Popsavov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Venko Kuleliev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jozef Hemeleers was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Evrosi Popsavov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yanis Devriendt in the 67th minute of the match. Serdar Öğeturk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manchester United F.C. made a substitution. Manchester United F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Winksele 2016 the free kick. Jozef Hemeleers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Venko Kuleliev went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Serdar Öğeturk took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Jozef Hemeleers to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Manchester United F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
