With a left leg Edmundo Meirelles saved Coritiba Blazers FC from getting behind. 16 minutes into the game, Kléberson Duarte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coritiba Blazers FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KS Olimpia Warszawa the free kick. In the 21st minute Reynaldo Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miromir Zukowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to KS Olimpia Warszawa getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Michal Wierzchowski hit a great ball. The supporters of KS Olimpia Warszawa booed when Coritiba Blazers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute, Zula Fudalej hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Coritiba Blazers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edmundo Meirelles should have stopped the shot. Telmo Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match.
