Jens Duset made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Pieter-Jan Rummens sent off a good shot on target. 6 minutes into the match, Arye Suryoye's Joacim Ekblom sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antonio Claeys narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the FC Ouagadougou National defense, Joacim Ekblom kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antonio Claeys. The FC Ouagadougou National fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonio Claeys should have stopped the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Arye Suryoye's Joacim Ekblom sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antonio Claeys narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 16th match minute, FC Ouagadougou National was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremie Sterkx to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 17 minutes, Albert Josefsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arye Suryoye's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albert Josefsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Arye Suryoye booed when FC Ouagadougou National was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeffrey Rits didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armand Owerckx kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, FC Ouagadougou National was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ben Jaddon to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Albert Josefsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arye Suryoye's supporters rose to their feet, but Albert Josefsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Claeys breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th match minute, FC Ouagadougou National was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moussa Tapsoba to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pieter-Jan Rummens in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jens Duset saved Arye Suryoye from getting behind. Peter-Jan Goovaers charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Peter-Jan Goovaers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 31st minute, Peter-Jan Goovaers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kjell Ros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Arye Suryoye's goal looked a bit too open when Armand Owerckx came free, but Jens Duset reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kjell Ros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 played minutes FC Ouagadougou National got a freekick which was hit by Jeffrey Rits. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pieter-Jan Rummens was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to FC Ouagadougou National getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Armand Owerckx hit a great ball. Jeremie Sterkx's late challenge caught a Arye Suryoye's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremie Sterkx helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, FC Ouagadougou National was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter-Jan Goovaers to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of FC Ouagadougou National booed when Arye Suryoye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Josefsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Arye Suryoye left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Ouagadougou National.
