With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flávio Perdigão in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudinei Esteves saved Grêmio Santo André from getting behind. In the last second Idalécio Rego throw himself and got hold of the ball when Bernie Strauss in the 17thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 18th minute, Durval Bulhosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the game, Chihuahua StrikerS™'s Pedro Haaland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudinei Esteves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Grêmio Santo André's Claudinei Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Perdigão in the 24th minute of play. After 25 played minutes Grêmio Santo André got a freekick which was hit by Zé Pedro Salles. Claudinei Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Perdigão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flávio Perdigão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Claudinei Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudinei Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Haaland, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Pedro Haaland notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Grêmio Santo André's Claudinei Esteves. Claudinei Esteves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

During the 69th minute of the match Bernie Strauss completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bernie Strauss a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Chihuahua StrikerS™ booed when Grêmio Santo André was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernie Strauss didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Jaime Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime Cabral took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Idalécio Rego. Idalécio Rego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5.
