Valdemar Valle might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Brandini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdemar Valle ran back to his position shaking his head. 12 minutes into the match, Valdemar Valle notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of As Melfi 1929's Alvaro Brandini. Alvaro Brandini was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 15th minute, Valdemar Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Arlindo Luz fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio Prudente's protests and gave Arlindo Luz a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 played minutes Grêmio Prudente got a freekick which was hit by Arlindo Luz. Alvaro Brandini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deivid Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arlindo Luz in the 30th minute of play forced As Melfi 1929's goalkeeper Alvaro Brandini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvaro Brandini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Álvaro Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Brandini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Grêmio Prudente's Álvaro Travassos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alvaro Brandini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After 46 minutes, Valdemar Valle made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. As Melfi 1929's Alvaro Brandini tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Grêmio Prudente were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emiliano Cinalli to make the kick off. Alvaro Brandini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Álvaro Travassos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Alvaro Brandini skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 58th minute, Álvaro Travassos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alvaro Brandini. The goal made the score 0-6. Valdemar Valle did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-7 to the left of a surprised Alvaro Brandini 62 minutes into the match. 68 minutes into the game, Valdemar Valle recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alvaro Brandini. Valdemar Valle showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Valdemar Valle put it in 0-10 from a short distance just to the right of Alvaro Brandini. Alvaro Brandini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Peres in the 79th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Arlindo Luz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alvaro Brandini. That made the score 0-11 in the 80 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arlindo Luz got free with Alvaro Brandini in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the match, Strahinja Sekulić dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alvaro Brandini, 0-12. Alvaro Brandini came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio Prudente's Valdemar Valle. But to his dismay, Valdemar Valle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-13. A collision led to As Melfi 1929 getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Enzo Di Croce hit a great ball. After 96th play minutes Álvaro Travassos shot 0-14, a short shot which went by Alvaro Brandini and just under the crossbar into goal. The As Melfi 1929 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Grêmio Prudente were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
