Gabi Gol's late challenge caught a Rot-Weiss-Essen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabi Gol helped the player get up and apologised. After 3 played minutes Reac Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gabi Gol. 7 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Bilek came free, but Uwe Ziege reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute Gabi Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uwe Ziege saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uwe Ziege stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabi Gol's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Reac Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Fausto Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elmar Assing. The audience was convinced that Ebbo Böse's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fausto Leite was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Björn Mokros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Uwe Ziege made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabi Gol in the 16th minute of play. Uwe Ziege showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Bilek in the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gunther Schößler to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Leite was a little too slow when Elmar Assing got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-0. Erkan Fostiropoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. The Reac Futebol Clube fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Reac Futebol Clube's Gabi Gol looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Erkan Fostiropoulos hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rot-Weiss-Essen's zone, Gabi Gol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Uwe Ziege came out of the goal and Gabi Gol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Gabi Gol notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege. Uwe Ziege was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 46 played minutes Reac Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Zézinho Tinoco. After the first half Reac Futebol Clube were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Claas Wong got a free kick in the 56th minute. A hard shot 57 in the game by Hugo Machado from a close distance when the talented Uwe Ziege managed to make a qualified save. Rot-Weiss-Essen's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ebbo Böse in the 60th minute of play forced Reac Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Fausto Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björn Mokros to maneuver through the defense. Reac Futebol Clube's Fausto Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erkan Fostiropoulos in the 68th minute of play. Elmar Assing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Fausto Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ebbo Böse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugo Machado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Uwe Ziege when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Alexsandro Vieira fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Reac Futebol Clube's protests and gave Alexsandro Vieira a yellow card for diving instead. Alexsandro Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Reac Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Elmar Assing came free, but Fausto Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 played minutes, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Xavi Haberer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fausto Leite came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rot-Weiss-Essen reached it. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Bilek in the 84th minute of play. Lucas Bilek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elmar Assing in the 96th minute of play forced Reac Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Fausto Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reac Futebol Clube's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
