The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of FC Kolos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Djurgården United:s goal. After 13 minutes, Yakiv Chyzhevskyi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Kolos and the Djurgården United players grew even worse after the yellow card. FC Kolos's Gavrylo Bobal got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gavrylo Bobal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Åke Qvalfeldt having to interfere. Karl-Åke Qvalfeldt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavrylo Bobal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bertil Lindholm in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valeriy Smalko saved FC Kolos from getting behind. If Ernst Burman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valeriy Smalko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sonny Njurenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernst Burman succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 36th playminute. Valeriy Smalko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sonny Njurenius in the 45th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Yakiv Chyzhevskyi to strike the kick off in the second half.
