Jan Gotfryd hit a great ball. In the 9th minute, Bawang Merah left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SAPI FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some careless play in the E.C. Galera defense, Bawang Merah kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olavo de Medeiros. The E.C. Galera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olavo de Medeiros should have stopped the shot. Luís Fábio Diniz's late challenge caught a SAPI FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Fábio Diniz helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bawang Merah got free with Olavo de Medeiros in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for E.C. Galera! Olavo de Medeiros had in the 28thth minute some difficulties stopping Bawang Merah's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 31 played minutes SAPI FC got a freekick which was hit by Jan Gotfryd. Bawang Merah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 38th minute Júlio Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anak Habib saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to E.C. Galera getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Vitório Araújo hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Bawang Merah kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Olavo de Medeiros. That made the score 4-0 in the 40 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bawang Merah was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Bawang Merah made a precise shot to the right of Olavo de Medeiros. E.C. Galera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bawang Merah in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavo de Medeiros saved E.C. Galera from getting behind. Olavo de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bawang Merah in the 57th minute of play. Virgílio Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in E.C. Galera's zone, Zhou Cheng Chen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavo de Medeiros came out of the goal and Zhou Cheng Chen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When SAPI FC's Bawang Merah in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye E.C. Galera's goalie prevented a goal. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by E.C. Galera's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zhou Cheng Chen was slow to take the kick. During this time SAPI FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Bawang Merah got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 7-0. 72 minutes into the match. Bawang Merah took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olavo de Medeiros. Olavo de Medeiros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. Olavo de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bawang Merah, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Júlio Nascimento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Anak Habib made a huge save. After having played for 92 minutes, Júlio Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E.C. Galera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, SAPI FC's Bawang Merah sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olavo de Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SAPI FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
