When Abelardo Favoretto fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PATO BRANCO FC's protests and gave Abelardo Favoretto a yellow card for diving instead. Abelardo Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose-Antonio Fortuño in the 46th minute of play forced PATO BRANCO FC's goalkeeper José Carlos Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abelardo Favoretto was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes PATO BRANCO FC got a freekick which was hit by Wágner Alves. José Carlos Torres didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jose-Antonio Fortuño went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. If Xines Herriaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose-Antonio Fortuño got free with José Carlos Torres in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ordóñez Cuesta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eulalio Peio in the 71st minute of play. Ordóñez Cuesta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Favoretto in the 77th minute of the match. Xines Herriaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carlos Torres having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Taltum FC's Mellington Aniego got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Eulalio Peio scored 3-2 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ordóñez Cuesta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 93rd minute, Abelardo Favoretto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Carlos Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xines Herriaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
