União Verde FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliseu Braga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Marquês de Herval's Manfredo Domingues. But to his dismay, Manfredo Domingues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilvan Pombal during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to União Verde FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Gilvan Pombal hit a great ball. After 10 minutes, Vinícius Lago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União Verde FC and the Marquês de Herval players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Marquês de Herval's Eliseu Braga. But to his dismay, Eliseu Braga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Vinícius Lago got his second yellow card in the match during the 22nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 22nd match minute, União Verde FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vinícius Lago to maneuver through the defense. Evandro Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias Pirani in the 28th minute of play. When Haroldo Marinho came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the União Verde FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Marinho couldn't finish the play. Valdir Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Mathias Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evandro Lara having to interfere. After some careless play in the União Verde FC defense, Eliseu Braga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdir Pérez. The União Verde FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdir Pérez should have stopped the shot. After having played for 38 minutes, Eliseu Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marquês de Herval's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu Braga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valdir Pérez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliseu Braga's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eliseu Braga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 51 in the game by Eliseu Braga from a close distance when the talented Valdir Pérez managed to make a qualified save. União Verde FC's players were relieved. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Braga in the 53rd minute of play. If Eliseu Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 58 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eliseu Braga. In the 59th match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Prata to maneuver through the defense. Eliseu Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Manfredo Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save União Verde FC from getting a goal against them. Marquês de Herval's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Emanuel Prata in the 72nd minute. The corner led Marquês de Herval's Emanuel Prata to fire away a dangerous shot which Valdir Pérez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 76th minute Luís Fabiano Clemente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Pérez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Eliseu Braga sped through União Verde FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Valdir Pérez. In the 80th minute, Serginho Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emanuel Prata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Valdir Pérez made a huge save. A collision led to União Verde FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Haroldo Marinho hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's Eliseu Braga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdir Pérez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 91st minute of the match Giovani Fernandes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valdir Pérez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Marquês de Herval's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
