Spectators: 157 (Terracing: 118, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Süruri Şanalp started the match with the kick off. Donato Vachon scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Themos Batiropoulos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Themos Batiropoulos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicanor Gaufred went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 13 minutes of play, Palermo's Donato Vachon made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Themos Batiropoulos was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 16th minute Donato Vachon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themos Batiropoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Süruri Şanalp could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Teofilo Federigo however easily saved by the left post. After 19 minutes Palermo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kasper Elssen who took care of the corner kick. 20 minutes into the match, GREEK ARMY's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Hondo came free, but Themos Batiropoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Bon Culot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GREEK ARMY fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Teofilo Federigo was a little too slow when Süruri Şanalp got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 2-3. Donato Vachon struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Themos Batiropoulos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palermo. A collision led to GREEK ARMY getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Valentinos Vrisimitzakis hit a great ball. Themos Batiropoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Hondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Ksawery Gall hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Themos Batiropoulos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donato Vachon in the 58th minute. In the 68th minute Süruri Şanalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofilo Federigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of GREEK ARMY booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Vachon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teofilo Federigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bon Culot, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Ulises Hernandez took a quick shot and it went in 3-4 without a chance for Themos Batiropoulos to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Süruri Şanalp in the 77th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Teofilo Federigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teofilo Federigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Süruri Şanalp in the 79th minute of the match. Süruri Şanalp took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teofilo Federigo. Teofilo Federigo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-4. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Rafael Hondo took a quick shot and it went in 4-5 without a chance for Themos Batiropoulos to make any attempt to save it. Süruri Şanalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Teofilo Federigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Themos Batiropoulos managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Palermo's Donato Vachon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The Palermo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palermo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
