After 51 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Ulu Özkutsal. In the 70th minute of the match Napalone surykatki got a corner. Newells Old Boys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Janusz Prusek was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Newells Old Boys were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
