Jorginho Guimarães's late challenge caught a La Zabaleta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hakim Frémont took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Gilabert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulopolis's Hakim Frémont played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Gilabert in the 21st minute of play. After having played for 22 minutes, Hudson Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paulopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hudson Vargas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chico Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Angelino Raulo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hudson Vargas to strike the kick off in the second half. If Andy Claes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. In the 89th minute, Miguel Gilabert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The La Zabaleta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 92 minutes into the game, Romulo Hibai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Zabaleta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulopolis the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, La Zabaleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romulo Hibai to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Paulopolis players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for La Zabaleta.
