The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gláuber Cardozo in the 3rd minute of play forced St. James Gate F.C.'s goalkeeper Reamann McNamee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Finbar Martyn kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After having played for 4 minutes, Durvalino Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. REAL RIO CRVG's supporters crossed their fingers, but Durvalino Sarmento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Roland Prunty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 9 played minutes REAL RIO CRVG got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Cosme. Reamann McNamee came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by REAL RIO CRVG's Alfredo Fernandes. But to his dismay, Alfredo Fernandes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão Souza came free, but Reamann McNamee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reamann McNamee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natã Nogueira in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Souza in the 18th minute of play forced St. James Gate F.C.'s goalkeeper Reamann McNamee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, REAL RIO CRVG's Marcinho Velloso got a free kick in the 19th minute. When REAL RIO CRVG's Alfredo Fernandes in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye St. James Gate F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Percival Prestes made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Barin Holt sent off a good shot on target. Percival Prestes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Bivadas Myler charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bivadas Myler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to St. James Gate F.C. getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Bivadas Myler hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Barin Holt to make the kick off. Reamann McNamee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to St. James Gate F.C. getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Rorke Colwell hit a great ball. 53 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s goalkeeper Reamann McNamee had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Durvalino Sarmento. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Souza in the 55th minute of play forced St. James Gate F.C.'s goalkeeper Reamann McNamee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, REAL RIO CRVG's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Prunty came free, but Percival Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berchan Gollogley took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Percival Prestes. Percival Prestes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 64th minute, Alfredo Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, REAL RIO CRVG's Durvalino Sarmento got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Ricardo Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of REAL RIO CRVG booed when St. James Gate F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brenna McWilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reamann McNamee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gláuber Cardozo in the 80th minute of play. In the 80th match minute, St. James Gate F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brenna McWilliam to maneuver through the defense. Reamann McNamee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gláuber Cardozo in the 83rd minute of the match. Pedrão Souza succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 92nd playminute. Roland Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Percival Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The REAL RIO CRVG players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented St. James Gate F.C. from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
