In the 4th minute Vitor Cambero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikulás Benediktsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the game, Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Leizarraga Leal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nikulás Benediktsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, Club Vertigo's Dumitru Teodoroiu got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute Leizarraga Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikulás Benediktsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Leizarraga Leal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th minute, Michel Hervé left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barrikako Herensugeak F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 18 minutes into the match, Club Vertigo's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Hervé came free, but Nikulás Benediktsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Vertigo's Nikulás Benediktsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leizarraga Leal in the 19th minute of play. Nikulás Benediktsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leizarraga Leal in the 23rd minute of play. Nikulás Benediktsson came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Michel Hervé. But to his dismay, Michel Hervé quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. When Club Vertigo's Sabin Corcoveanu in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's goalie prevented a goal. Nikulás Benediktsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jokin Bernal in the 30th minute of play. After 32 minutes, Leizarraga Leal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barrikako Herensugeak F.C and the Club Vertigo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leizarraga Leal hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Nikulás Benediktsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jokin Bernal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Vertigo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vitor Cambero was slow to take the kick. During this time Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's players had a chance to rest. Club Vertigo's Nikulás Benediktsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michel Hervé in the 40th minute of play. Nikulás Benediktsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitor Cambero in the 43rd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Sabin Corcoveanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erik Thorstvedt. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sabin Corcoveanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Michel Hervé struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Nikulás Benediktsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barrikako Herensugeak F.C. The crowd rose to their feet as Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Michel Hervé slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nikulás Benediktsson. That made the score 1-4 after 58 minutes of play. 63 minutes into the match, Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Michel Hervé sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nikulás Benediktsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th match minute, Club Vertigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dumitru Teodoroiu to maneuver through the defense. After 65 played minutes Club Vertigo got a freekick which was hit by Dumitru Teodoroiu. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Iratxo Crespo was substituted for Vitor Cambero. In the 69th minute Michel Hervé shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikulás Benediktsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 minutes, Anton Stolnicu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Vertigo and the Barrikako Herensugeak F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. One of Barrikako Herensugeak F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Vertigo:s goal. The referee gave Club Vertigo a penalty, 76 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Romeo Galiceanu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Erik Thorstvedt. 2-4. Erik Thorstvedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabin Corcoveanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Club Vertigo's Nikulás Benediktsson got control of the ball when Leizarraga Leal tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leizarraga Leal got free with Nikulás Benediktsson in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Iratxo Crespo in the 85th minute. After taking down the ball on Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's corner Iratxo Crespo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nikulás Benediktsson quite easily take care of the ball. If Brahim Aliu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leizarraga Leal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Nikulás Benediktsson made a huge save. 93 minutes into the match, Club Vertigo's goalkeeper Nikulás Benediktsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leizarraga Leal. After a defensive mix-up in Club Vertigo's zone, Leizarraga Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nikulás Benediktsson came out of the goal and Leizarraga Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 98 minutes into the match, Club Vertigo's goalkeeper Nikulás Benediktsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Unax Ondategui. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
