The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 5 minutes, Pascual Lamberto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. S. Peron y Belgrano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pascual Lamberto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Pascual Lamberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fausto Abadia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascual Lamberto in the 10th minute of play. Pascual Lamberto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fausto Abadia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. EL CORTO FC's Fausto Abadia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascual Lamberto in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Lamberto in the 15th minute of play forced EL CORTO FC's goalkeeper Fausto Abadia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in EL CORTO FC's zone, Pascual Lamberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto Abadia came out of the goal and Pascual Lamberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 22 minutes into the game, C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Pascual Lamberto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fausto Abadia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 29th minute C. S. Peron y Belgrano were awarded a corner. Ciriaco Cordarrol went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Joel Pio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but EL CORTO FC's Fausto Abadia did a great save. In the 40th minute, Pascual Lamberto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 42 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Pascual Lamberto sped through EL CORTO FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fausto Abadia. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

55 minutes into the game, one of EL CORTO FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave C. S. Peron y Belgrano a penalty, 57 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ciriaco Cordarrol, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of EL CORTO FC's Fausto Abadia. 0-7. Fausto Abadia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Milito, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. EL CORTO FC's Fausto Abadia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save EL CORTO FC from getting a goal against them. Waldir Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eloy Bizen, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Gusmão Azeredo scored 0-11 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fausto Abadia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 86th minute, C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Gusmão Azeredo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fausto Abadia. Fausto Abadia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-12. Gabriel Milito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Fausto Abadia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to EL CORTO FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Arnaldo Gaizko hit a great ball. Fausto Abadia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gusmão Azeredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The EL CORTO FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. C. S. Peron y Belgrano were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
