In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's goalkeeper Rene Austin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 23rd minute of the match Mansfield Town FC got a corner. Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Steve Cohen ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 25th minute Célio Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Söderman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's goalkeeper Rene Austin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Philip Sandwall. Georg Söderman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Célio Queirós in the 31st minute of the match. The referee showed Montrel Loyas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's Rene Austin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Gudmundsson in the 55th minute of play. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Steve Cohen was slow to take the kick. During this time Mansfield Town FC's players had a chance to rest. In the 57th minute, Montrel Loyas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th match minute, Mansfield Town FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Montrel Loyas to maneuver through the defense. After 63 played minutes Mansfield Town FC got a freekick which was hit by Steve Cohen. Gildo Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. But to his dismay, Gildo Cordeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Georg Söderman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Durvalino Trevisan in the 94th minute. Michael Gudmundsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Rene Austin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
