After a rather tough play, Philadelphia Union FC's Yevgen Romanenko got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 37th minute Edson Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominic Orcondona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ademir Chaves made in the 38th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Reinaldo Macedo. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Dário Lira came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Philadelphia Union FC's Humberto Saron. But to his dismay, Humberto Saron quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Dário Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 55th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edson Prestes got free with Dominic Orcondona in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 76th minute, Joélson Valladares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute Luiz Gustavo Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominic Orcondona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Miltos Mouratidis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Irreal Madrid's Dário Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miltos Mouratidis in the 90th minute of play. Yevgen Romanenko kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Irreal Madrid players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
