Oleg Timofeev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hélder Trigo in the 24th minute. In the 27th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiori Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Salgado in the 30th minute of play. Oleg Timofeev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Segovia in the 32nd minute of play. Bernardo Corrêa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jano Cavalcante went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Montevideo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fiori Vasconcelos in the 37th minute. With a little luck, Montevideo's Oleg Timofeev got control of the ball when Matheus Paraíba tried to sneak it across the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Segovia came free, but Oleg Timofeev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jano Cavalcante stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Hélder Trigo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oleg Timofeev was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 56 minutes into the match, Hélder Trigo notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Montevideo's Oleg Timofeev. Oleg Timofeev was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
