Lennart Åkesson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Lennart Åkesson made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Chaouki Ben Rau sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Kling in the 17th minute of play forced Bajbusy Fabian-a's goalkeeper Lucjan Walentowicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chaouki Ben Rau could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Lennart Åkesson made a huge save. Lennart Gernberg made in the 20th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Göran Martinsson immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Chaouki Ben Rau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bajbusy Fabian-a's supporters rose to their feet, but Chaouki Ben Rau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lennart Åkesson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 25th play minutes Chaouki Ben Rau shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Lennart Åkesson and just under the crossbar into goal. 27 minutes into the match, Bergandy's goal looked a bit too open when Chaouki Ben Rau came free, but Lennart Åkesson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Izydor Opat charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Izydor Opat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lucjan Walentowicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Asserlind, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bajbusy Fabian-a's Chaouki Ben Rau was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 38th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Lennart Åkesson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chaouki Ben Rau in the 44th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Izydor Opat stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 70 minutes, Chaouki Ben Rau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bajbusy Fabian-a and the Bergandy players grew even worse after the yellow card. Chaouki Ben Rau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bajbusy Fabian-a's Chaouki Ben Rau got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Bergandy's zone, Chaouki Ben Rau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chaouki Ben Rau might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lennart Åkesson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chaouki Ben Rau ran back to his position shaking his head. 82 minutes into the game, Iaki Albizua was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bajbusy Fabian-a's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bergandy the free kick. In the 85th minute, Chaouki Ben Rau made a precise shot to the right of Lennart Åkesson. Bergandy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. If Chaouki Ben Rau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Chaouki Ben Rau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
