In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Mauro A Mare FC's goalkeeper Anselmo Costacurta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With an all-out effort, LEBRON's Anselmo Costacurta threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lautaro Acosta, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 20th minute LEBRON were awarded a corner. Lautaro Acosta went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of San Mauro A Mare FC's goalie and right to Cirilo Txanton. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. San Mauro A Mare FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. If Ariel Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the San Mauro A Mare FC defense, Nestor Casado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anselmo Costacurta. The San Mauro A Mare FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anselmo Costacurta should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Carter Marsili made the kick off in the second half.
