In the 8th minute Julian Frank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bektaş Ünaldi during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fred Anselius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Thiago Dantas made a huge save. When Lars Askberg fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flock of Eagles's protests and gave Lars Askberg a yellow card for diving instead. Lars Askberg hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Benett in the 24th minute of play forced ZONGULDAKKÖMÜRSPOR's goalkeeper Thiago Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 40th minute of the match Bektaş Ünaldi completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bektaş Ünaldi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Flock of Eagles booed when ZONGULDAKKÖMÜRSPOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bektaş Ünaldi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Johannes Bammerman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flock of Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ZONGULDAKKÖMÜRSPOR the free kick. Atak Akçakıl kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ahmet Rıfat Sebukalp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Köksal Birhan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 63 minutes into the match, ZONGULDAKKÖMÜRSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Benett came free, but Thiago Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thiago Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Frank, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. If Ahmet Rıfat Sebukalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Yahya Kemal Nezihi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Flock of Eagles's Fred Anselius suffered a sore thigh after 91 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 91 minutes, Sedat Durdu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ZONGULDAKKÖMÜRSPOR and the Flock of Eagles players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes ZONGULDAKKÖMÜRSPOR got a freekick which was hit by Sedat Durdu. Thiago Dantas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Frank in the 95th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the ZONGULDAKKÖMÜRSPOR players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Flock of Eagles.
