Robbrecht De Metser didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 played minutes Royal Antwerp FC got a freekick which was hit by Casper Nilis. After having played for 13 minutes, Luk Van Clynenbreugel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Royal Antwerp FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luk Van Clynenbreugel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute, Tobias Postens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Engenheiros da Vila's Eriberto Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Engenheiros da Vila from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute of the match Royal Antwerp FC got a corner. Engenheiros da Vila's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dylan Paelinck ran over to the corner to take the kick. 33 minutes into the match, Engenheiros da Vila's goal looked a bit too open when Antoine Hofnagels came free, but Eriberto Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldinho Arruda in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg William Weggers saved Royal Antwerp FC from getting behind. Shen Jing Wei's late challenge caught a Royal Antwerp FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shen Jing Wei helped the player get up and apologised. Gernando Sarmento took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised William Weggers. William Weggers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half Engenheiros da Vila were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osvaldinho Arruda made a kick off. With his leg William Weggers managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Engenheiros da Vila's Osvaldinho Arruda fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Engenheiros da Vila's Flávio Mineiro got a free kick in the 55th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Engenheiros da Vila's Sérgio Jacinto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. William Weggers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 65 minutes into the match, Engenheiros da Vila's goal looked a bit too open when Robbrecht De Metser came free, but Eriberto Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp FC's goalkeeper William Weggers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldinho Arruda. After some careless play in the Royal Antwerp FC defense, Sérgio Jacinto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of William Weggers. The Royal Antwerp FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that William Weggers should have stopped the shot. William Weggers made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Wesley Salgado sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th minute, Engenheiros da Vila's Osvaldinho Arruda dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. 90 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp FC's goalkeeper William Weggers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldinho Arruda. The Royal Antwerp FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Engenheiros da Vila were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
