Patryk Basaik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdo Salas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Curcio Amer came free, but Patryk Basaik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of PERSPOLIS booed when Real Guayaquil.F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xaven Monzonis didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Tomas Rosales recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
