Patagonia's Alvise Gerola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Francesco Toldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Piepenburg in the 15th minute of play. Alvise Gerola who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Volker Timmermann when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 24th minute, Alvise Gerola fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Alvise Gerola had several of the PoznanGalaxy's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 30 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Volker Timmermann as he didn't even see the shot coming. Volker Timmermann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvise Gerola's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by PoznanGalaxy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Angelo Di Livio was slow to take the kick. During this time A.C. Patagonia's players had a chance to rest. In the 38th minute Luis Piepenburg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Toldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.C. Patagonia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Angelo Di Livio in the 41st minute. After taking down the ball on A.C. Patagonia's corner Angelo Di Livio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Volker Timmermann quite easily take care of the ball. Alvise Gerola who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Volker Timmermann when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A well-hit corner resulted in Fabiano Fiorentino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alvise Gerola made a kick off. After 50 minutes, Bartholomäus Trieb mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PoznanGalaxy and the A.C. Patagonia players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arturo Maldini in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Volker Timmermann saved PoznanGalaxy from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Alvise Gerola put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Volker Timmermann. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind PoznanGalaxy's goalkeeper Volker Timmermann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Arturo Maldini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Volker Timmermann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvise Gerola, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. When A.C. PoznanGalaxy's Volker Timmermann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvise Gerola in the 76th minute of play. Volker Timmermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvise Gerola in the 77th minute of the match. Volker Timmermann came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by A.C. Patagonia's Arturo Maldini. But to his dismay, Arturo Maldini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 89 minutes into the match, PoznanGalaxy's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Maldini came free, but Volker Timmermann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute, Angelo Di Livio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A.C. Patagonia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
