Spectators: 157 (Terracing: 118, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Dimitri Van Landewijck made the kick off and thus started the match. Sleepy Soldiers FC's Dimitri Van Landewijck managed to work through Portuguesa's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Dimitri Van Landewijck dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The supporters of Sleepy Soldiers FC booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Charles Arantes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Brent-Jan Van Lancker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Giovani de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimitri Van Landewijck in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Portuguesa's Afonsinho Mattos got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Maicon Munhoz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brent-Jan Van Lancker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Severo in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Dimitri Van Landewijck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dimitri Van Landewijck got the opportunity to take care of a free kick, it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball hit the crossbar and flew out of bounds. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Pedro Augusto de Barros put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Brent-Jan Van Lancker. Brent-Jan Van Lancker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Arantes in the 42nd minute of play. If Betinho Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47thth minute of the game Charles Arantes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sleepy Soldiers FC's Brent-Jan Van Lancker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half Portuguesa were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charles Arantes to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's Charles Arantes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brent-Jan Van Lancker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Charles Arantes scored 0-3 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brent-Jan Van Lancker, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Giovani de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitri Van Landewijck, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Maicon Munhoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Brent-Jan Van Lancker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Sleepy Soldiers FC's Brent-Jan Van Lancker got control of the ball when Raúl Rosado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brent-Jan Van Lancker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Augusto de Barros in the 65th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sleepy Soldiers FC's zone, Afonsinho Mattos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brent-Jan Van Lancker came out of the goal and Afonsinho Mattos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's Charles Arantes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brent-Jan Van Lancker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Maicon Munhoz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Brent-Jan Van Lancker. That made the score 0-4 in the 69 minute of play. Betinho Severo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 75th minute. Portuguesa's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Brent-Jan Van Lancker didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 76th minute, which inside left pole to 0-5. Sleepy Soldiers FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Charles Arantes scored to the left of an out of position Brent-Jan Van Lancker, making the score, 0-9. Portuguesa's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
