Edgardo Botello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oscar Dimas went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Edgardo Botello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesus Turi in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Nikiforos Iakovatos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgardo Botello was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Edgardo Botello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikiforos Iakovatos in the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikiforos Iakovatos in the 47th minute of play forced Deportivo Pucho's goalkeeper Edgardo Botello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Sportivo Constitución were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomás Checa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 76 minutes Deportivo Pucho's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nikiforos Iakovatos who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Sportivo Constitución's corner Nikiforos Iakovatos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Edgardo Botello quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the Deportivo Pucho defense, Americo Txomin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgardo Botello. The Deportivo Pucho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgardo Botello should have stopped the shot. Americo Txomin struck a weak shot in the 84th minute.
