Holfenhein:s Ulrich Haas showed great skill when he stopped Antonio Calisto:s penalty. When Gremio Viana's Carlos Luna, in the 40th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Gremio Viana. The supporters of Holfenhein booed when Gremio Viana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Valido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Luna didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-0 via right post in the game's 47th minute. Gremio Viana's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Vicente Paixão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Büchel in the 65th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, José Büchel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holfenhein's supporters rose to their feet, but José Büchel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Paixão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 67 minutes, Paulo Lage mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gremio Viana and the Holfenhein players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Carlos Luna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ulrich Haas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Luna in the 73rd minute of play. Ulrich Haas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Luna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Okan Wagner made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gremio Viana's Paulo Lage. Gremio Viana's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
