After a defensive mix-up in Mainumby's zone, Dimas Figueiras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Gau came out of the goal and Dimas Figueiras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 29 played minutes Mainumby got a freekick which was hit by Eusebio Fiz. Gastão Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Oinatz in the 31st minute of play. Mainumby's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Amadeo Olivar in the 32nd minute. The corner led Mainumby's Rigoberto Santxol to fire away a dangerous shot which Gastão Antunes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Armando Beltza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Ávila could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Santiago Gau made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Mainumby's Isaac Urtungo got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 83rd match minute, Mainumby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Semeno to maneuver through the defense. In the 89thth minute of the game Manuel Matos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mainumby's Santiago Gau was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Bernardo Benet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
