Zé Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelinho Meireles in the 4th minute of the match. In the 6th minute Deivid Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murillo Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Murillo Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deivid Prestes in the 8th minute of the match. Wolves FC - DMZ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tiaguinho Velloso in the 10th minute. After some careless play in the Grêmio FBPA defense, Tiaguinho Velloso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Murillo Gonçalves. The Grêmio FBPA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Murillo Gonçalves should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Custódio in the 18th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Murillo Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wolves FC - DMZ's Deivid Prestes got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joélson Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Wolves FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Gilberto Ceresso hit a great ball. Edu Zonta's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zé Veloso firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 31st minute, Gilberto Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldo Ramos's shot from long distance in the 32nd minute was not bad at all, but Wolves FC - DMZ's Zé Veloso knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dráuzio Leite during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Grêmio FBPA's Edu Veiga was substituted for Edu Zonta. A collision led to Wolves FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Dráuzio Leite hit a great ball. After 43 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Marcelinho Meireles. Matías Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Wolves FC - DMZ's Tiaguinho Velloso got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Murillo Gonçalves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tião Custódio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tião Custódio was the one to do the kick off. When Ulisses Prestes came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Grêmio FBPA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulisses Prestes couldn't finish the play. After having played for 56 minutes, Deivid Prestes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolves FC - DMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Deivid Prestes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ulisses Prestes fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio FBPA's protests and gave Ulisses Prestes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Wolves FC - DMZ booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulisses Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Murillo Gonçalves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Deivid Prestes in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Wolves FC - DMZ's Tiaguinho Velloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Murillo Gonçalves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The audience was convinced that Romeu Lira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Murillo Gonçalves was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Dráuzio Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Murillo Gonçalves came out and tried to block the shot, but Tião Custódio slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeu Lira in the 86th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Murillo Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grêmio FBPA's Murillo Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tião Custódio in the 87th minute of play. Murillo Gonçalves was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tião Custódio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 90 minute of play. Wolves FC - DMZ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
