The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joaquin Juvenal hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After 4 played minutes, Seraċini Għawdxin's Clayton Vella shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Teo Erauso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Seraċini Għawdxin reached it. After a rather tough play, Villa La Perla's Danilo Kemen got a free kick in the 7th minute. Teo Erauso had in the 10thth minute some difficulties stopping Clayton Vella's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Clayton Vella took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teo Erauso. Teo Erauso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Teo Erauso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clayton Vella in the 24th minute of the match. Inocencio Inautzi kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Tommy Genovese managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Seraċini Għawdxin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommy Genovese was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teo Erauso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edward Gruppetta went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Joe Petroni kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Villa La Perla's Federico Matai couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Seraċini Għawdxin. Seraċini Għawdxin's Dejan Cumbo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inocencio Inautzi in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

54 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Farias came free, but Dejan Cumbo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocencio Inautzi in the 62nd minute of play forced Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Dejan Cumbo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Cristian Farias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Villa La Perla fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Inocencio Inautzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villa La Perla's Silvano Urtsua got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute Louis Mamo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teo Erauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, Steve Rizzo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Seraċini Għawdxin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villa La Perla the free kick. A collision led to Seraċini Għawdxin getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Steve Rizzo hit a great ball. In the 90th minute, Inocencio Inautzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Seraċini Għawdxin walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
