The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ronnie Hitzing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Jupp Schultheiss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sjoerd Bosschaart, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After some careless play in the Fc Schönhagen defense, Pieter den Hartog kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jupp Schultheiss. The Fc Schönhagen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jupp Schultheiss should have stopped the shot. Jupp Schultheiss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pieter den Hartog, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Reinhard Braamhaar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Jupp Schultheiss made a huge save. After having played for 18 minutes, Ronnie Hitzing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc Schönhagen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronnie Hitzing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Fc Schönhagen's Ekkehard Clemens got a free kick in the 19th minute. Jupp Schultheiss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bastiaan Bruintjes in the 23rd minute of play. The Lemel SV fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Lemel SV's Pieter den Hartog looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 30th minute, Pieter den Hartog ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jupp Schultheiss was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Pieter den Hartog didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 5-0 via right post in the game's 34th minute. Lemel SV's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Fc Schönhagen's Jupp Schultheiss proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Fc Schönhagen from getting a goal against them. Ronnie Hitzing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Olivier Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Pieter den Hartog made the kick off in the second half. The Lemel SV fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Lemel SV's Pieter den Hartog looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronnie Hitzing in the 66th minute of play forced Lemel SV's goalkeeper Olivier Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jupp Schultheiss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pieter den Hartog, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jupp Schultheiss showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pieter den Hartog in the 75th minute of the match. Lemel SV's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
