After 26 minutes of play, Elderslie Magpies's Brad Missen made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Corder Clubley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pieter den Hartog, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Corder Clubley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriele Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elderslie Magpies's Corder Clubley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dries Teunisse in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Lemel SV booed when Elderslie Magpies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mack Barker didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 34 minutes, Gabriele Batistuta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lemel SV and the Elderslie Magpies players grew even worse after the yellow card.
