Spectators: 147 (Terracing: 111, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 2) Jardel Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Ixaka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Maraponga FAC defense, Gerardo Ixaka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jardel Falcão. The Maraponga FAC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jardel Falcão should have stopped the shot. Jardel Falcão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicasio Mendebal in the 10th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Gerardo Ixaka managed to get in a good position for a shot. RIVER's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerardo Ixaka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jardel Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maraponga FAC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Higinio Nofre scored to the left of an out of position Jardel Falcão, making the score, 2-0. After 16 played minutes RIVER got a freekick which was hit by Higinio Nofre. Narciso Jerrald came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Maraponga FAC's Téo Sá. But to his dismay, Téo Sá quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 27th minute Marquinhos Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Jerrald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, Marquinhos Cruz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maraponga FAC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Nicasio Mendebal charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicasio Mendebal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nicasio Mendebal hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After 37 minutes, Eleuterio Milio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RIVER and the Maraponga FAC players grew even worse after the yellow card. José Paulo Toledo struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Narciso Jerrald didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maraponga FAC. In the 42nd minute, Maraponga FAC's Victor do Valle seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Victor do Valle the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Maraponga FAC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Victor do Valle had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Maraponga FAC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 44 minutes, RIVER's Samuel Lertxun got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jardel Falcão. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anselmo Esdras stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jardel Falcão came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by RIVER's Nicasio Mendebal. But to his dismay, Nicasio Mendebal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. With a little luck, RIVER's Narciso Jerrald got control of the ball when Téo Sá tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marquinhos Cruz might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Narciso Jerrald. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marquinhos Cruz ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, RIVER's Narciso Jerrald got control of the ball when Téo Sá tried to sneak it across the goal line. Téo Sá could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Narciso Jerrald made a huge save. In the 74th minute, Orlando Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Nofre in the 76th minute of play forced Maraponga FAC's goalkeeper Jardel Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Téo Sá hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Higinio Nofre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jardel Falcão was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Maicon Alves hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Maraponga FAC's Zé Paulo de Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Jerardo hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Many of Maraponga FAC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Maraponga FAC may have spent more time on the ball, but RIVER were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
