After the first half CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ricardinho Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erubiel Serapio in the 53rd minute of the match. Baldomero Berbiz charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Baldomero Berbiz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Júlio Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uriel Jerrald having to interfere. The Santa Margarita fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Hermengildo Walme kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Santa Margarita's Hermengildo Walme seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hermengildo Walme the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Santa Margarita protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hermengildo Walme had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 81 minutes into the game, one of Santa Margarita:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE a penalty, 82 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marcelinho Ramalho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Santa Margarita's Uriel Jerrald. 2-3. Uriel Jerrald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faustão Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 96 played minutes Santa Margarita got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Berbiz. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, Uriel Jerrald successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the final whistle sounded CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Santa Margarita.
