The audience was convinced that Telmo Barbosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Abadie was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. 7 minutes into the game, Dalmo Rocha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gustavo Abadie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Giuseppe Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Vachon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 13 played minutes GERLIROJO Ψ got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Lobo. Anselmo Batista took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gustavo Abadie. GERLIROJO Ψ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Benito Gonsalve succeeded in the game's 20th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. After 22 played minutes GERLIROJO Ψ got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Gaueko. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Giuseppe Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Gonsalve in the 27th minute of play. Gustavo Abadie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmo Rocha in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Dalmo Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustavo Abadie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Telmo Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustavo Abadie came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Dalmo Rocha. But to his dismay, Dalmo Rocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dalmo Rocha to strike the kick off in the second half. César Alagoano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gustavo Abadie came out and tried to block the shot, but César Alagoano slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 54th minute. In the 58th minute César Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Abadie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Neves. Telmo Barbosa hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. The supporters of Nova Iguaçu MZFC booed when GERLIROJO Ψ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Lobo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nova Iguaçu MZFC made a substitution. Carlos Augusto Alcântara replaced Murilo Urbano. The supporters of Nova Iguaçu MZFC booed when GERLIROJO Ψ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Lobo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalmo Rocha was extremely unlucky when he, in the 69th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Dalmo Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Gustavo Abadie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, GERLIROJO Ψ's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmo Rocha came free, but Gustavo Abadie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Dalmo Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalmo Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Abadie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dalmo Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Gustavo Abadie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dalmo Rocha received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. In the 87th match minute, Nova Iguaçu MZFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. Dalmo Rocha struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Gustavo Abadie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nova Iguaçu MZFC. After 92 played minutes César Alagoano rounded GERLIROJO Ψ's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-7. After 95 played minutes GERLIROJO Ψ got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Gaueko. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Rocha in the 96th minute of play forced GERLIROJO Ψ's goalkeeper Gustavo Abadie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The GERLIROJO Ψ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Nova Iguaçu MZFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
