A collision led to Quebra Ossos FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Sílvio Luís Matorin hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Telmo Salles in the 7th minute of play forced FC Hamburg's goalkeeper Engelbert Heidemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehmet Ertas Wigger in the 9th minute of play forced Quebra Ossos FC's goalkeeper Vitório Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the game, Gugu Saldanha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quebra Ossos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Hamburg the free kick. After 10 played minutes Quebra Ossos FC got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Saldanha. Engelbert Heidemann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elói Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 played minutes Quebra Ossos FC got a freekick which was hit by Elói Branco. A collision led to FC Hamburg getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Fidel Pohlplatz hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, FC Hamburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maiko Kressl to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ingbert Reinhold during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vitório Britto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Ertas Wigger in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute of the match Quebra Ossos FC got a corner. FC Hamburg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Téo Fonseca ran over to the corner to take the kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mehmet Ertas Wigger in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitório Britto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When FC Hamburg's Johann Emmerich in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Quebra Ossos FC's goalie prevented a goal. 40 minutes into the match, Quebra Ossos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Johann Emmerich came free, but Vitório Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Hamburg's Engelbert Heidemann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elói Branco in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Johann Emmerich managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Hamburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Johann Emmerich was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitório Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 55 minutes, Fidel Pohlplatz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Hamburg and the Quebra Ossos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ralph Breddermann hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Engelbert Heidemann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aírton Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mehmet Ertas Wigger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the game, Johann Emmerich was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Hamburg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quebra Ossos FC the free kick. Vitório Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehmet Ertas Wigger, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. FC Hamburg's Johann Emmerich got his second yellow card of the match in the 70th minute. The referee ordered Johann Emmerich off the ground. The supporters of Quebra Ossos FC booed when FC Hamburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johann Emmerich didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the FC Hamburg defense, Gugu Saldanha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Engelbert Heidemann. The FC Hamburg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Engelbert Heidemann should have stopped the shot. Engelbert Heidemann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo Salles in the 75th minute of the match. Engelbert Heidemann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 78 minutes of play, Quebra Ossos FC's Telmo Salles made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Engelbert Heidemann was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 80 minutes, Téo Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quebra Ossos FC and the FC Hamburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mehmet Ertas Wigger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitório Britto having to interfere. Engelbert Heidemann came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Quebra Ossos FC's Elói Branco. But to his dismay, Elói Branco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Mehmet Ertas Wigger took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Vitório Britto to make any attempt to save it.
