The referee ignored Quebra Ossos FC's protests and gave Gugu Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Quebra Ossos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Martin Russø sped through Quebra Ossos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vitório Britto. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Martin Russø put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Vitório Britto. Vitório Britto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Chaves in the 26th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Richard Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dr Lecter SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Chaves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitório Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Quebra Ossos FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Elói Branco hit a great ball. Vitório Britto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Chaves in the 33rd minute of the match. The Dr Lecter SC fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Dr Lecter SC's Martin Russø looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Quebra Ossos FC booed when Dr Lecter SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Quebra Ossos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Chaves came free, but Vitório Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Quebra Ossos FC's zone, Richard Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitório Britto came out of the goal and Richard Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Chaves in the 52nd minute of play forced Quebra Ossos FC's goalkeeper Vitório Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Dr Lecter SC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Martin Russø hit a great ball. After 65 played minutes, Quebra Ossos FC's Téo Fonseca shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Albertinho Albuquerque came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quebra Ossos FC reached it. In the 69th match minute, Dr Lecter SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Vaz to maneuver through the defense. If Egídio da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, Quebra Ossos FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Egídio da Costa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 89th minute, Richard Chaves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vitório Britto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in Quebra Ossos FC's zone, Martin Russø stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitório Britto came out of the goal and Martin Russø tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dr Lecter SC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
