A collision led to Campus Douro Academy getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Frederico Aguiar hit a great ball. Altino Tristão lost his temper 10 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 10th minute, one of Campus Douro Academy:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Campus Douro Academy. Zeferino Igrejas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Deinse in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Decathlon Dudes booed when Campus Douro Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Campus Douro Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley van Rhijn came free, but Zeferino Igrejas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute Stefan Waterreus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeferino Igrejas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arjan Robben in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zeferino Igrejas saved Campus Douro Academy from getting behind. Zeferino Igrejas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Deinse in the 36th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Campus Douro Academy's zone, Wesley van Rhijn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeferino Igrejas came out of the goal and Wesley van Rhijn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Wesley van Rhijn made the kick off in the second half. Teodoro Caiado kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. 52 minutes into the game, Wesley van Rhijn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Zeferino Igrejas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Wesley van Rhijn came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Decathlon Dudes fans jumped to their feet. The audience was convinced that Alex Deinse's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeferino Igrejas was relentless in the 90th minute of the game.
