The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, Atletico Patoruzu's Alexsandro Netto threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cedric Coulter, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 5 played minutes Samurai Champions FC got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Amaral. A collision led to Atletico Patoruzu getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Merlin Whitley hit a great ball. Samurai Champions FC's Mané Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 14 minutes, Marcelo-Luis Master mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Patoruzu and the Samurai Champions FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rubens Massa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Trey Randle. Atletico Patoruzu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Atletico Patoruzu getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Theo Thomson hit a great ball. In the 20th minute, Mané Catarinense made a precise shot to the right of Trey Randle. Atletico Patoruzu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Trey Randle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeferson Amaral went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Trey Randle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renan Sena in the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeferson Amaral in the 30th minute of play forced Atletico Patoruzu's goalkeeper Trey Randle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trey Randle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renan Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. If Roosevelt Sullivan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 33rd minute, Chance Womack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chance Womack was shown his second yellow card after 35 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 35 played minutes Atletico Patoruzu got a freekick which was hit by Chance Womack. The audience was convinced that Jeferson Amaral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Trey Randle was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. 46 minutes into the game, Severino Siqueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Samurai Champions FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atletico Patoruzu the free kick. After 47 played minutes Samurai Champions FC got a freekick which was hit by Severino Siqueira. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roosevelt Sullivan made a kick off. Renan Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Trey Randle having to make a save. In the 60th minute Mané Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trey Randle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atletico Patoruzu's Trey Randle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Silva in the 62nd minute of play. In the 67th minute, Samurai Champions FC's Renan Sena dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. If Renan Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Trey Randle managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Samurai Champions FC's Mané Catarinense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cauã Arantes's late challenge caught a Atletico Patoruzu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cauã Arantes helped the player get up and apologised. Cauã Arantes hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Atletico Patoruzu's Trey Randle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mané Catarinense in the 82nd minute of play. The Samurai Champions FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Samurai Champions FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
