The referee ignored BOTAFOGO's protests and gave Luan Alvarenga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th minute, Luan Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Pilar FC fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Pilar FC's Roque Fertus looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, BOTAFOGO's Luan Alvarenga got a free kick in the 29th minute. Roque Fertus scored 3-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Murillo Cabral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute, Ildefonso Frechoso fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Christiano Maia hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. If Ildefonso Frechoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Roque Fertus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murillo Cabral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roque Fertus showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 47 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roque Fertus made a kick off. Roque Fertus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murillo Cabral having to interfere. The supporters of Pilar FC booed when BOTAFOGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guga Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Pilar FC's Severino Umbruso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Murillo Cabral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Pilar FC booed when BOTAFOGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christiano Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ildefonso Frechoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Pilar FC booed when BOTAFOGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Alagoano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 71 played minutes Pilar FC got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Lesardo. In the 76th minute, Roque Fertus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Murillo Cabral was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. After some careless play in the BOTAFOGO defense, Generoso Jerardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Murillo Cabral. The BOTAFOGO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Murillo Cabral should have stopped the shot. Murillo Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roque Fertus in the 85th minute of play. Ildefonso Frechoso's late challenge caught a BOTAFOGO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ildefonso Frechoso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, Pilar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ildefonso Frechoso to maneuver through the defense. Generoso Jerardo kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Pilar FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
