With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jairo Nunes in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benigno Silbestre saved Esmeralda AFC from getting behind. Esmeralda AFC's Benigno Silbestre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Nunes in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Kléber Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beto de Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ceferino Restu, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Jairo Nunes notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Esmeralda AFC's Benigno Silbestre. Benigno Silbestre was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice moves Inocencio Luar could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Beto de Godoi however easily saved by the left post. Inocencio Luar's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Beto de Godoi firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some careless play in the Maragassume AD - CIMZ defense, Inocencio Luar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beto de Godoi. The Maragassume AD - CIMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beto de Godoi should have stopped the shot. Zé Augusto Maia hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute, Vítor Meirelles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maragassume AD - CIMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Benigno Silbestre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Augusto Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The supporters of Maragassume AD - CIMZ booed when Esmeralda AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Alfonso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beto de Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ceferino Restu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernabe Artizar to make the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Benigno Silbestre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Beto de Godoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Rufo went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Beto de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inocencio Luar in the 56th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Jairo Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Maragassume AD - CIMZ's zone, Melquiades Lamberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beto de Godoi came out of the goal and Melquiades Lamberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, Inocencio Luar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Beto de Godoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. After a rather tough play, Maragassume AD - CIMZ's Jairo Nunes got a free kick in the 68th minute. 70 minutes into the game, Bernabe Artizar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Beto de Godoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 76 minutes into the match, Bernabe Artizar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beto de Godoi. Maragassume AD - CIMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernabe Artizar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. In the 83rd minute, Ceferino Restu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Beto de Godoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-2. After 85 played minutes Maragassume AD - CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Teixeira. In the 86th minute, Bernabe Artizar made a precise shot to the right of Beto de Godoi. Maragassume AD - CIMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-2. Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Zé Augusto Maia 90 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 7-3. After 94 played minutes Maragassume AD - CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Meirelles. Esmeralda AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
